In news that will surprise no one, nobody died. This post is dedicated to hachikurooo.

So… Aldnoah Zero is much the same. Inaho still kicks ass with the power of SCIENCE, Slaine is still a fucktard, the princess is still useless.

Still some questions remain to be answered… like how did Earth manage to continue any significant opposition, even 19 months later? I guess some of the castles surrendered, but I wonder why. Also, why is the maid still serving the Martians? I guess she just wants to be near the princess.

How is there wind in space…?

And I really loved how Inaho knew it wasn’t the princess.

Honestly, I don’t think this is nearly as terrible as people are making it out to be. The thing with Inaho is kind of ridiculous but it’s nothing new. Not killing a single person was kind of funny but hey it’s what everyone expected. I don’t think this show has changed much from the last season.

  1. Maybe they meant solar wind? Perhaps there’s an ion storm from a solar prominence or something? That’s probably giving them way too much credit.

    1. pretty much; unless the guy is attributing the solar winds to some kind of missle guidance interference, he should not be concerned about “wind” in space. It’s a stupid piece of dialogue that is clearly a script oversight

  2. Hachikuro here, as the official Slaine Apologist I ask of you to please stop the hate speech against Slaine.

He is cute, has fluffy hair and chubby cheeks. How can such a person be the worst human being of all time?!

    1. Wait until he jerks off to the comatose body of the princess as she’s floating in that tank of hers. You know it’ll happen eventually.

    2. So… kind of like Hitler, who from what I hear was a total stud? We can agree that Slaine is the worst human being of all time, who happens to be cute.

  3. How is Slaine a bad human being? Is it because he’s at the wrong time in the wrong place and at a wrong position? What a ‘good’ human being would do were he in his shoes?

How come Inaho lives after getting shot in the head anyway?

    1. What a ‘good’ human being would do were he in his shoes?

      1. Not shoot the princess’ friends in the back while claiming to love the princess.
      2. Not imprison the princess while claiming to love her.
      3. Not helping an impostor pretend to be the princess and work against what the princess was willing to die for while claiming to love her.
      4. Not teaming up with her murderer while claiming to love her.
      5. Not helping the Martians win the war she was willing to die to stop.
      6. Not helping invaders subjugate and murder his own people.

We could go on, that’s just a start.

      1. I clearly asked you what a good human being WOULD do, not what he wouldn’t do.

Please give me an overview of the possible routes Slaine could take to register as a ‘good human being’ in your book. Condition: must be believable.

And I guess you didn’t pay attention when watching the show?

        1. Not shoot the princess’ friends in the back while claiming to love the princess.

Watch episode 12 again. Inaho pointed his gun at Slaine first, Slaine learnt his lesson from the carrier incident and shot first. It’s called precaution.

        2. Not imprison the princess while claiming to love her.

She was on life support. Should he ‘release’ her and let her die?

        3. Not helping an impostor pretend to be the princess and work against what the princess was willing to die for while claiming to love her.

What do you suggest? Killing the impostor? Asking her to stop being a puppet?

        4. Not teaming up with her murderer while claiming to love her.
        5. Not helping the Martians win the war she was willing to die to stop.

So he should just leave the princess to die ? Because I can see the first thing Saazbaum does after Slaine deserts is cutting off her life support.

        6. Not helping invaders subjugate and murder his own people.

But Slaine is not murdering and subjugating Martians.

I guess you’re just bent on hating Slaine against all logic. Cannot be helped.

        1. Slaine is an Earthling. He’s helping murder and subjugate Earthlings. Martians aren’t his people, Martians are the bunch of entitled twats who made his life hell for years with their continued racism and discrimination. He fell in love with the Princess specifically because she was the only one who treated him as something other than a sack of garbage, and she did so because she liked Earth and wasn’t a racist asshole. She was willing to die to protect it, so, if Slaine was anything but a possessive creeper, he would accept how things are and try to honour her desires, not do the exact opposite (that will get him hated by her btw). Maybe it’s understandable as he’s been thoroughly broken, but he’s not acting like a “good human being” would.

          1. Slaine has Martian citizenship, so he’s a Martian. Isn’t it simple.
A ‘good human being’ would flee and leave the princess to die then? Is this China or what?

          2. If he could help her that’d be even better. What Slaine has done was actually worse than leaving her to die though.

          3. Slaine saved the princess’ life. Did you just say that he should have killed her instead? It sounds chuuni as hell.

        2. Some possibilities:

Go to the earthlings for medical help.

Go to Saazbaum for medical help and then quickly betray him or secretly work to sabotage his plans.

          1. He shot after Inaho had lowered his gun and turned around. Probably because Inaho was trying to help the princess and Slaine wanted to do that himself.

          2. You think she’ll be free to go once she’s off life support?

          3. Or just reveal to key people that it’s an impostor, or betray them in some way. Any way.

4/5. Well, he could kidnap the princess. Or find a new sponsor to protect her. Slaine seems a very willing participant in everything he’s engaged in. He’s not just doing it to preserve the princess’ life.

          6. Well, they treated him like an earthling his entire life. But it’s not like murdering and subjugating a different people is an improvement.

          1. Slaine could not even remotely consider getting help from the Earthlings.
            1. They may shoot him on sight.
            2. Their ship crash-landed and might not provide conditions to perform surgery (given that Inaho could have died as well were it not for the ship ‘miraculously’ restarting due to Aldnoah magic).
            3. Even if they help to save the princess, Slaine believes they will be simply using her for their own goal.
            4. Inaho taught him that Earthlings are treacherous bastards.

Go to Saazbaum for medical help and then quickly betray him or secretly work to sabotage his plans.

To betray Saazbaum Slaine would need people backing him up, which he had difficulty obtaining so far (see below). And a safe place to go too which he has none of. Even sabotaging Saazbaum’s plans would do little since Saazbaum is just one of the many who schemed the assassination and support the war. Additionally, by doing so he would put the life of the princess at risk.

            1. He shot after Inaho had lowered his gun and turned around. Probably because Inaho was trying to help the princess and Slaine wanted to do that himself.

I’d say Slaine recognised Inaho and eliminated him to spare himself trouble for the future since Inaho did screw him over once. This could be Slaine’s revenge for what happened after their joint action as well. And Slaine believed that Inaho was using the princess as a tool to further his own goals.

            2. You think she’ll be free to go once she’s off life support?
You’re simply writing your own story here. We have no idea what happens once she wakes up. She is not a prisoner as you claimed.

            3. Or just reveal to key people that it’s an impostor, or betray them in some way. Any way.

This would change nothing. The war would still be going on.

4/5. Well, he could kidnap the princess. Or find a new sponsor to protect her. Slaine seems a very willing participant in everything he’s engaged in. He’s not just doing it to preserve the princess’ life.

Both require Slaine finding some higher figure he could trust, which may be difficult given that the royal family is not popular even among counts. Slaine learnt his lesson in the first cour: he will never be fully trusted by his superiors as he was born on Earth. He cannot even appeal to the emperor himself because all he says will be discredited. The first cour made a strong point about Slaine’s predicament: what he says will not be believed, he cannot tell an ally from a foe, his attempts at revealing the truth will be smothered by the team behind the assassination attempt. And I guess he cannot kidnap the princess when she is in the state she is now?

            6. Well, they treated him like an earthling his entire life. But it’s not like murdering and subjugating a different people is an improvement.

Cannot be helped during war. I wonder how you feel about Rayet who undoubtedly is murdering her own people.

  4. Suzaku is a huge hypocrite but Slaine is a dick. Slaine won by huge margin.

Why am I glad that Inaho live? Well, I want to see our master scientist Gary Stu stuck a gun up Slaine’s ass and shoot him off to the moon. That would be easily the most satisfying ending of 2015 anime.

  5. “I don’t think this is nearly as terrible as people are making it out to be.I don’t think this show has changed much from the last season”

And that’s why it’s terrible. Not only did the show prove that the stunt it pulled at the end of the last season was just an empty call for attention to everyone who would’ve otherwise dropped it (yeah we all saw it coming, but when your bad twists are this poorly telegraphed you have a problem), the show flat out refuses to do anything that might’ve been an improvement over the last season. Now it’s just the same goddamn thing except with Not-Nunnally who apparently exists.

  6. Best part of this show and 90% fighting shows: let’s send all the noobs to die one hit by the villan, so that the hero has time to drink his coffe and maybe flirt with that hot chick… I hate it when virtual life is so mindless vasted -.- I mean c’mon, where are thouse noobs are even coming from, can they respown or what?
