I’m still not a fan of Haganai. My main issue is that everyone in the show is an asshole. Half of the show consists of these girls bullying each other. Why anyone would find this attractive or funny is beyond me.
The other half of the show is exploitative otaku bait.
Plus I hate how everyone’s mouth looks.
Still, I’ll keep watching just for Rikka.
Ahahaha.
You know, I was thinking about this actually when compared to how everyone hates these slice of life moe girls doing cute things shows because the girls are all so insufferably nice to each other. Haganai is the counter example to these shows. I doubt it does it intentionally for this purpose, but it’s kinda like what teen girls would be like: total bitches to each other. But like you say, it’s kinda annoying to watch.
Haha, that’s a great way to think of it. Instead of cute girls doing cute things, we have cute girls being total bitches to each other. I just want someone to come Bright-slap them into submission.
Girls being insufferably nice to each other or just insufferable? Which is better, I wonder?
I think it could be interesting if we had some of each
Rika is a great reason to continue watching! I am a huge fan of Haganai and I can agree with you for the most part it is basically everyone messing with each other, hopefully the second episode returns to the joke potion and slapstick humor…
I think there are obvious hints towards romance later with Kodaka, Sena and Yozora, but I don’t know how this series can do romance other than perverted thoughts and daydreams? I guess we have to wait and see.
The manga had more obvious hints of romance, it’s definitely did there. I don’t think Sena has much of a fighting chance though. Regardless, yeah, I don’t think they’ll do romance without descending into perversion.
