Darling gets in the FranXX.

Great first episode. I love mecha shows. This looks set to be a great one.

I’ve seen a lot of comparisons to Star Driver, and it seems fairly obvious the mecha and the villains’ costumes took some inspiration from Star Driver. It reminds me a bit of Eureka Seven thematically. And the setting seems similar to Chrome Shelled Regios (fortunately nothing else does). All mecha shows take inspiration from each other though, I don’t think that’s any reason to dismiss the show though. I mean, look at Rahxephon. Pretty much copied Evangelion, and made it a hundred times better.

Also, such ridiculous levels of sexual innuendo. I don’t even have to use my imagination here.
