Guilty Crown 19 — Crown Him With Many Crowns (SUNG!)

Our remarkable musician for this week is AJTheFourth from Altair and Vega! Please join me in thanking her for singing!

After preparing your hearts and minds for worship, enjoy her beautiful and moving rendition of “Crown Him With Many Crowns.”

Crown Him With Many Crowns (Click to Download)

Crown Him with many crowns! The Shoe upon his throne!
Hark! How the heavenly music drowns all music but its own.
Awake my soul and sing, of His great love for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King for all eternity!

Crown Him the Virgin’s son, the King eternal born,
Whose hand the crystal trophy is which now His arm adorns.

Every cancer He knows, that wrings the human breast,
And takes and bears them for His own that all in Him may rest.

Crown Him the Lord of life, who sent friends to the grave.
For that is where He chose to keep those whom He came to save.
To chase out all their sin, He entered deep within,
Bearing the cancer of the world He saves all those therein.

Crown Him the Lord of peace, whose power all voids sways.
By distinction, that war may cease, and all be prayer and praise.

His reign shall know no end, and by His piercèd hand,
He shall reclaim His holy Bride and Death’s power withstand.

Crown Him the Lord of love, behold His hand and face,
Those wounds of purest crystal light bear witness to His grace.

No mortal on this earth can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends his burning eye at mysteries so bright.

Crown Him the Lord of voids, the Potentate of time,
Extractor of the crystal voids, ineffably sublime.
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou has died for me;
Thy praise and glory shall not fail throughout eternity.

Let us conclude in prayer.

Ouma Shuu, you take away the cancer of the world. Have mercy on us.
Ouma Shuu, you take away the cancer of the world. Have mercy on us.
Ouma Shuu, you take away the cancer of the world. Grant us peace.

Amen.

  1. I often think about the lack of originality in post on the anime blogosphere -THIS is the type of post I’d like to see and do more of.

    Oh, and beautiful singing, Emily!

    1. Thanks! Aren’t the lyrics great? I was completely taken aback by Draggle’s first Guilty Crown song post (Hark! Crystal Inori Sings) and have been following them religiously (pun intended ^ ^) ever since.

      Thank you.

      1. I don’t know how I’ve been missing these posts!

I do feel a bit jealous. The past two Christmases, I’ve done a re-lyricizing (<— made-up word) of "My Favorite Things" on my blog to include anime. I wish I would've asked you to sing it! It would've made me absolutely giddy. 😛

        1. You should sing it yourself! We would all love to hear your beautiful voice!

(and on a completely unrelated note, if you’d like to sing a song about Guilty Crown, let me know :P)

  2. I still don’t know what’s going on, but at least I know Shuu is the cancer of the world.

Btw, your singing is just beautiful Emily. I don’t know how else to describe it.

    1. I think I know what’s going on, but as for it being logical, or making sense, that’s a whole different ballgame.

Thank you! I respectfully disagree with your opinion, but will defend to the death your right to have it!

    2. No, no, you’ve got it all wrong. Shuu *takes away* the cancer of the world.

…ok, fine, your interpretation is more accurate.

  3. The Church of our Redeeming Shoe is now in session. I hope you do this for every anime where the main character is revealed to be Jesus (which, let’s face it, is most of them).

    1. Yeah, I’d probably to write songs for at least half the anime that air then… Most aren’t quite so blatant about it as Guilty Crown though. And most don’t manage to turn the Jesus figure into such a pathetic excuse for a human being as Ouma Shuu.

    1. Thanks! In the name of Ouma Shuu, and by his authority, I declare to you the entire forgiveness of all your sins. Amen.

    1. All of the credit should go to Draggle and his fantastic set of lyrics.

I’d say that you should catch up but…uh…this series just isn’t very good. I love watching it, and am entertained, but perhaps not in the way that the production team would have wanted.

  4. Great kae-uta (parody of song)! Nice voice. I wish my pitch was that high, so I could sing anime songs which usually came in as high-pitched. It would also be funny if one of the vocaloids like Miku sings this song.

My void would be Muttsurini camera from Bakatesu, if Shuu the Redeemer extracts it from my chest like Utena!

    1. Thank you! I love singing in general, and have been known to sing anisongs from time to time (especially the entire Star Driver catalogue) ^ ^

Oh man, it would be hilarious to hear one of Draggle’s songs in the vocaloid program…
