Kaguya-sama: Love is War Review — A-

High schoolers fall in love. The first to admit it loses.

This is one of my favorite manga at the moment. I love it because the childish, immature way they relate to the object of their affections is exactly the way I acted in high school too. Fortunately I got over it. But watching other people do it is still hilarious.

The anime adaptation did not disappoint. It perfectly captures the charm of the manga, even to the extent of the winner / loser blurbs at the end of each chapter. It captures simultaneously the innocence, charm and utter stupidity of the main characters. Fujiwara… is captured even better than in the manga, if anything. The animation is great (look at those facial expressions… damn) and the pacing is great.

One of the best comedies in a while.
