What kind of friend are you?

I have never been so emotionally invested in a show for babies in my life. This was amazing. They had virtually no money (you can tell), what appears to be a target audience of five year olds, and produced one of the best anime of the year. What the fuck.

What makes this show so good? I have difficulty articulating it. Basically, it made me realized that even though I grew up and became bitter and cynical, I still have a heart. It was so heartwarming to watch all the Friends be, well, friends. The characters in the show aren’t even able to conceive of the possibility that any random person they meet won’t be their friend. It’s relaxing just to imagine such a world.

But at the same time the show can be a bit profound:

But all without losing an ounce of this overwhelming faith and optimism.

All the Friends are utterly adorable. And I loved the segments where the zookeepers explain about the different animals.

Plus, everything is just so cute? The most obvious part of this is Serval. Anything she says… oh my god. And her voice acting is absolutely perfect.

Basically, this anime reminded me of my childhood, when I had hopes and dreams and thought the world was magical and amazing and that all people would be my friends if only I got to meet them. *Cries*

• Storytelling – A – Every episode is pointed and entertaining.
• Voice – A – Yup, nothing even remotely compares.
• Characters – A – Every single character was unforgettable.
• Attention Grab – A – I had to force myself to slow down in watching.
• Production – A – I think it looks great, love the art style. Amazing voice acting, especially Serval and Crested Ibis.
• Overall – A-

Recommendations – Can’t even think of anything that compares. Maybe Kemono Shoujo Erin for a portion of the same feel, but that was much darker.
