There should be an International Board on Proper Expenditure of Funds for Anime (IBPEFA) and I should be on that board. I would not have approved of this expenditure.
I thought this was a delightful adaptation of Alice in Wonderland (hint: it opens by quoting Lewis Carroll’s introductory poem to Wonderland, though the Carroll references are thicker in the PV than in the actual film), I’m eagerly hoping for more. It’s a lot of fun when animators get to cut loose.
I like it when they cut loose too, such as with Penguindrum, but this is more like binge drinking, jumping in the river naked and making out with a hippopotamus.
In Alice in Wonderland, you know what’s going on, it’s just bizarre. Kyousogiga isn’t bizarre so much as incomprehensible.
I didn’t like it, but it just might take a while to get used to (if it becomes a show). I didn’t like the first episode of crazy shows like Nichijou, Panty and Stocking, or Manyuu Hikenchou, but those turned out great. This just might have an enjoyment curve.
At least it’s aware of its biggest problem.
It’s perfectly aware of its biggest problem and, in fact, quite smug about it!
While watching this I felt like someone placed in front of me pot with human boiling inside, gave me a spoon and asked me to identify who it is.
HUMAN IS DEAD, MISMATCH
This is what happens when anime lets loose
Kyousogiga, at least wear some pants!
It’s like my eyes are being eviscerated by rainbows. Good god.
KYOUSOGIGA = RAINBOW TORNADO BEES X 1000

I would pay them NOT to make this.

That’s possible. I think if they had more time I might have eventually figured out what was going on.
