Cute girls fight phantoms.
The girls are cute. And the OP is good. That’s the sum total of everything Musaigen no Phnatom World has going for it.
What was the point? The main character was boring and full of himself like only a middle schooler can be. The plot was nonexistent. What was the show trying to say? This was even worse than all the anime that have a deep message of “you’re you, you”. It was devoid of any content whatsoever. Why would anyone want to watch this?
Because the girls are cute. And… there’s nothing else. Absolutely nothing.
To be clear, I have nothing against cute girls. But come on, you could at least pretend there’s something more to the show than that. This is the worst show KyoAni has made since Munto. It’s not like I’m asking for much. I was fine with that Chuunibyou show, with the amusement park one, with Tamako Market— they had something to say. They were even occasionally funny. Even fucking K-On had more of a point than this one.
Wait, I forgot about Kyoukai no Kanata, that one sucked too. But at least it tried to tell a story. It was just a stupid story. Musaigen no Phantom World didn’t even try hard enough for me to call it stupid.
