Mushibugyo — First Impressions

In the first five seconds, this excited, pumped up music plays as a screaming woman gets raped by a giant insect. Was tempted to drop it then and there but my supreme dedication to writing good first impressions posts forced me to keep going.

It did pick up (although it really couldn’t go down any further). It has a neat animation style and decent fights. It’s perverted but in moderation, at least so far. The girl with the huge breasts is useless but the others seem fine. I particularly liked when everything turned pink and this temporarily turned into BL. The show has some sense of humor unlike so much in the genre.

I may watch these with the people at Classy, not sure yet though.

  1. This looked quite sleek and and was easy to enjoy. I’ll try out at least ep. 2, as well. But most likely I’ll drop it sooner or later as it seems to have a typical shounen plot. Ignoring your judgement I watched Roman last season in the hope of finding a hidden treasure. Well, it wasn’t all bad but certainly not a treasure. Both Roman and this one seem to be rather for the kids. Too bad, as the art direction is great (I particularly liked the views of Edo in the ED sequence) and the monsters were gory enough to create some suspense.

    1. I’m really not sure what to make of this one in terms of genre. As you say it has a typical shounen plot. It seems to be for the kids. But then it proceeds to pull out a ton of panty shots. I’m still not sure what to make of it.
