Note: I’m out of town this weekend. I should start catching up with the weekend’s shows Sunday night, or possibly Monday.
The manliest show ever made. Needless follows a crew of misfits as they fight for survival in a post apocalyptic world with special powers.
Needless follows the shounen battle manga formula, which I generally hate. But the thing is, it follows the formula so well that it becomes parody. And it approaches all of its content with such earnestness and passion that you can’t help but be drawn in.
This show has fighters shouting out every attack name in the middle of battle. It has a commentary crew of sidekicks narrating the fights. It has analysis and explanation of every single power and attack. These sound like negatives, but it’s done with such sincerity and passion that it’s fully enjoyable. The show has an excellent sense of humor as well.
The powers and the characters are really random, which makes the fighting quite interesting. The girls shown above have super speed, super strength, and flowery hypnotism power. There are a ton of panty shots, but it’s done in such a blatant way that I thought it was hilarious.
The overarching story itself is pretty dumb (someone trying to be Jesus), but who cares? This show’s more about the battles and comedy. About half the show consists of a single long battle in a room built for giants, with enormous furniture. Why was the room built? Who knows. We’re just entertained by fight after fight of constantly changing pairings, with tons of twists and turns.
I’d recommend giving Needless a chance if you haven’t seen it.

- Voice – A – Gratuitous fighting, shouting, manliness and panty shots.
- Characters – B – Kevo is right, the magical girl squad is the best. Unfortunately, Yamada, Eve, and the priest are not as interesting, and they’re the main characters.
- Attention Grab – B – Made me pay attention in a show about endless sequences of battles. Nice work.
- Production – B – Looking good.

I think I have seen like 13 or 14 episodes of this so far. I really should finish it up and yeah, it has a lot of energy which makes it quite enjoyable.

How unfortunate that the anime doesn’t go far enough to introduce Girl Yamada, because that is when Yamada become very-very interesting…
Fanservice wise, story wise, and character wise…
Seriously. I read the manga after watching this, and suddenly Yamada transforms from nobody into the best character. Pretty hilarious.
i have a brand new anime or manga featuring a normal thirty year old man named Adam lee he lives on Okinawa japan he works as a fisherman one day he accidentally catches a mermaid named Marina she has pink hair white skin and green eyes she has gigantic breasts and a fish like lower body she can transform her fish tail and lower body into human legs and a nice big human ass she also becomes statuesque athletic and muscular on dry land she is naked she later uses her magical powers to summon some of her aquatic friends to find items in the ocean and on shore to cover her naked body they find some a lot of seaweed that is colored green red brown and blue green to cover her body with she uses this seaweed to make a improvised dress of sorts.
