Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shurabasugiru Review — C

This season’s required harem show.

The majority of OreShura is pretty standard harem fare: trips to the beach, secret stalking of dates, and all the haremettes not getting along. I liked the show’s beginning and ending (it is not quite your usual harem ending) but was bored in the middle.

To start off, the main girl actually blackmails the guy into dating her, which makes OreShura stand out from the enormous pack of its contemporaries. When the two main characters are on screen things tended to go well.

One of the other haremettes is a delusional Chuunibyou, which is great. But the other two are a tsundere and a childhood friend. As far as those two character types go, these two are fairly decent, but still… I’m sick of tsunderes. And childhood friends have always been a terrible character type. They are always annoying. It seems to be a universal law.

Still, OreShura brought a spark of ingenuity to the harem genre, and I have to commend it for that.

  • Storytelling – C – The “fake” girlfriend is a good idea, but still gets tied up in traditional harem events.
  • Voice – C – The visual style is somewhat unique.
  • Characters – C – Childhood friend – F, Pink – D, the rest are ok
  • Attention Grab – C – Lost interest after the first few episodes.
  • Production – B – Not particularly high quality, but I did like the bright colors and the art style.
  • Overall – C

  1. I’m in complete agreement with you on this one. Usually I avoid harem shows like the plague, but I decided to give this one a shot and I’m glad I did. It’s nothing special, but it managed to make me laugh pretty consistently which is rare for any anime.

  2. Pretty agreeable score.
I still remember how I dropped IMOUTO like a plague.
Also last season’s harem show, I don’t even remember it’s title, but it has an imouto lusting after her big brother, and he has red haired pirate girl living with him. <– stopped watching after 15 minutes

But when it comes to this show, I watched it every week without problem.

    1. Ah Onii-Ai, yeah, that was terrible. Ore Shura was much better. In general shows without imoutos are not as guaranteed to be disasters.

  3. I had high hopes for this one, mainly high hopes that Eita would end up with Chiwa and not Masuzu, the worst love interest I’ve ever seen in an anime.

And then he went and ended up with Masuzu. And yet still has all the girls going after him.

    1. Yep. That’s harems for you. As far as love interests go, Masuzu’s not that bad actually. There have been way worse…

      1. Well, alright, maybe saying she’s the worst is unfair, but she is one of the worst. And given that her competition includes such characters as Naru Narusegawa, Yozora Mikazuki, Selnia Flameheart, Mio Isurugi, Aria Kanzaki, Akiko Himenokouji, Kirino Kousaka {because let’s face it, she really IS being presented as a love option for Kyousuke by the end of the first season} and Haruhi motherfucking Suzumiya, that’s saying something.

        1. Haha yeah. The worst girl always seems to win… Based on harem anime, Japanese men seem to always be attracted to girls who have breasts hundreds of times bigger than the size of their brains.

  4. i have a brand new anime or manga featuring a forty year old man named Adam lee he lives on Okinawa Japan he is a scientist and a researcher he comes across a giant UFO it is a highly advanced spaceship it belongs to a extraterrestrial named Marcia she is a alien princess she has white skin red hair blue eyes she is tiny or short and she has a flat chest she would wear elegant Gothic Lolita outfits she is protected by her bodyguard named Pearl she has tanned skin long black hair brown eyes she is statuesque athletic muscular she has gigantic breasts and a big ass she would wear a armored bra and armored panties she has on a helmet and gauntlets .
