A hero builds a harem of assorted supernatural creatures.
Just look at the picture to get a good idea of what this is like. And hey, I have nothing against that. But the show needs to offer something more to keep me entertained. Like Cross Ange’s unbeatable levels of stupidity, or Daimidaler or High School DxD’s sense of humor. Yeah, Shinmai Maou no Testament is pretty much a crappy version of High School DxD if it didn’t have any sense of humor.
I guess I’ll give them some credit though for a main character who isn’t a complete moron. That has to count for something. And I’ve definitely seen worse. Much worse. Shinmai Maou no Testament is pretty much middle of the road for its genre.
- Storytelling – D – Lots of excuses for “accidents”.
- Voice – F – Pretty generic fantasy setting.
- Characters – F – No.
- Attention Grab – D – Somehow I finished it! And I don’t even have my usual Classy excuse. But… yeah, it was a mistake.
- Production – C – Meh.
- Overall – D-
Recommendations – High School DxD, Daimidaler, Cross Ange
