Strike the Blood has got to be the most anime anime I’ve seen in years. Panty shots. Nosebleeds. Amnesia. Magic powers. Adults hitting on middle school girls. A bad pickup line escalating into a battle with flaming horses. Strike the Blood’s got it all.
I’ll admit, it’s stupid. Really stupid. But I enjoyed this. It was a bit nostalgic for me, a trip to the anime of yesteryear. How long has it been since we’ve had a straight-up panty shot followed by nosebleed combo? Certainly that isn’t as prevalent as it used to be. It made me realize that perhaps anime actually has changed a lot since I first started watching. In a good way, too.
But a trip back in time is nice once in a while.
The first episode was enjoyable but not much more. The girl is kind of cute, naive as she is. The ED promises more girls. You are right, all is fairly generic but in a relaxing way. No surprises to be expected.
I’m not sure if I’ll continue watching this. Far too many good series this season.
On the third episode the feeling is much the same. Pretty generic but pleasantly so. There are tons of better shows though.
