tamako_market_01_1 tamako_market_01_1

1. Tamako Market
Cute and funny.

So yeah, in summary, this season is slim pickings. The only show I can say I’m genuinely looking forward to is Tamako Market. I like OreShura and Kotoura-san at the moment, but I think those will go downhill. Minami-ke should be all right. #5-#9 should be watchable but nothing special. Fortunately a bunch of the better series from last season are carrying over, so not all is lost.

I haven’t decided what I’m going to pick up this season. Most likely nothing, as only one of the shows I was blogging before has ended. I was thinking of dropping either Zetsuen no Tempest or Robotics; Notes (or both) but sadly, there’s nothing worth dropping them for. The only four shows I actually like this season are all comedies, and I suck at blogging comedies. Never have enough to talk about. I think what I’ll try to do is write more random posts about shows I’m not blogging. Or I’ll do some ranting about the shows I don’t like.

What do you think of this season’s shows? Let us know in the comments!

  1. Ranting is always good!

I like Kotoura, Haganai s2, Mondaiji,Sasami and Tamako Market! Everything else is alright so far, but I generally like a lot of random anime lolol

  2. Hagani would depend very much on how they adapt the source material. If they do it well, it puts a rather unique take on the “dumb, blind Harem protagonist”, or how going into a Romantic relationships with a female friend is very difficult for a very insecure boy, when most of your friends are Females, and you lack a history of having genuine friendships.

If, they can do this well, you’d be in for a treat. Do this badly, and I do look forward to the condemnations of Hagani by the Blogosphere (=.

  3. You sure had some deep thoughts about Vividred Operation! LOL
I’m interested in Maoyuu and Sasami-san. I also need to start watching HunterxHunter now that it is fastly approaching the point where the previous (better) anime ended.

    1. I’m a deep person, what can I say.

Haven’t seen the previous Hunter x Hunter, but I’m really impressed with what the new one has done so far. (Except the arc where they were fighting in the tower, that got a bit boring)

  4. I’m still lagging behind and haven’t even checked out all of the new series but my first impression is similar to yours: Not much to speak of in terms of new shows but excellent stuff continuing from last season.

My #1 is Osaka Okan. Should I ever decide to learn Japanese I’ll try to acquire an Osaka dialect just to use awesome words like “motor pool”. The ED songs are cute, too!

#2 would be Sasami-san. The plot seems to be nonsense but I’m still digging SHAFT visuals.

I’ll also watch Tamako Market b/c it’s KyoAni and I’ll watch Minami-ke b/c, well, it’s Minami-ke. This still leaves some room so I think I’ll give Kotoura-san a try. Ep. 1 was much better (darker) than I expected – this could become a positive surprise!

    1. Motor pool is an interesting name. I just don’t have enough patience for that show though. (which is weird considering it’s only three minutes)

I liked the second episode of Sasami-san a lot more than the first. The first was much much much better animated, but in the second the plot sort of made sense at the very least. I highly approve of the red-haired girl’s design. The more we see of them and the less of the brother, the better. Also the frog girl is really annoying.

Kotoura is still going strong as of the third episode— it’s managed to keep the interesting combination of darkness and comedy.
