Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou Review — F

A loser becomes a super-strong asshole.

This was just genuinely awful. The creators seem to have mixed up good and evil. It is a revenge fantasy where this guy who isn’t popular at school becomes powerful and then treats everyone else like shit, including the harem of women who flock to him for some reason. He enjoys killing and now that he’s on top takes full advantage of it. And this is all portrayed as a positive thing.

It’s kind of like Shield Hero, but not quite as awful as the later parts. Probably because the anime adaptation didn’t get that far.

  • Storytelling – F – Look at me, I shoot guns, so badass.
  • Voice – F – These poses, omg.
  • Characters – F – Just observe that bunny girl.
  • Attention Grab – C – Boring but you can’t take your eyes away.
  • Production – D – Not good.
  • Overall – F

Recommendations – Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

  1. i have a brand new anime or manga featuring a 33 year old human prince named Johannes Kaiser he lives in the magical world of Elysium he is engaged for arranged marriage to several odd women from various nations or countries in the world of Elysium the world of Elysium is inhabited by everything in the fantasy kitchen sink the science fiction kitchen sink and every conspiracy kitchen sink idea from good to evil and neutral.

  2. I have watched this series twice now and fail to see where the review deserved an F across the board. Was it really that bad? I have watched Bad series that I will halfheartedly watch three of four episodes before deciding they stink and move on. Some of the character development could have been a little clearer. To be honest the first time we meet Shea the bunny girl and Tio the perverted dragon girl I was reminded of the characters Aqua and Darkness from the Konosuba series. Both were idiots and nonsensical but added some humor to the story line. Hajime is your typical low level high schooler who is picked on or ignored has a few girls that see a little brother in him so he already has emotional problems that get exacerbated after another student uses the heat of battle to try an assassinate him. Having to survive on his own by eating the monsters he kills he starts to take on their personality traits and yes has a SOB attitude. He also saves those he cares about and builds a deeper relationship with the vampire princess who besides her Loli looks is over three hundred. A character that could have been more developed during their stay at the Mavericks Lair. Can this series be a bit campy? Yes but is is enjoyable to watch with a pretty decent story line.
Storytelling – C – Some characters deserved better back ground
Voice – B – OK, not overly emotional or idiotic. Some so soft you have to turn up the volume
Characters – B – I have seen better and a hell of allot worse
Attention Grab – C – Keeps your attention but be ready to go back and re-watch scenes
Production – D – Trying to intermix drawn anime with 3D graphics to sloppy.
    Overall – F
