Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing 07 — It’s a Trap! It’s a Trap!

Fam, Fam, Fam… Seriously? We know that this isn’t going to turn out well. You should listen to Giselle.

That’s right. That’s what tends to happen when you attempt to capture a fleet of eight warships with a single vanship. You get blown to smithereens.

And you made Giselle cry! Unforgivable!

Not only that, you led an enemy fleet right back to your base. How could you possibly not notice that this entire fleet was trailing you, especially at such a distance?

Damn straight.

A Dose of Humility

This was probably my favorite episode yet. It was exactly what Fam needed: one of her crazy plans to backfire horribly. Up until now, everything has seemed too easy. This kid managed to capture an entire fleet by herself? How incompetent can the enemy possibly be? But now we know that there’s actually a challenge for Fam and Giselle to overcome, and it will make their eventual triumph much more meaningful.

International Affairs

I’m actually starting to like this loli-empress. At first, I assumed that she was simply a figurehead who wasn’t even aware of what was being done in her name. But she is, and she even manages to wear a mask in public to support it. You have to give credit where credit is due. That takes some guts. I’m sure that Fam will still convince her to change her mind though.

On the other side of the world, Glacies sure is suspicious. They’ve completely isolated themselves. And those looked like rockets they were sending to space. Could they have designs on the Exile?

I bet Glacies is where we’re headed next. I don’t see any way for Tatiana to escape other than crossing the border.

Random Thoughts

The Ades federation has the worst bridge design I’ve ever seen. A circular platform, with nothing on it, surrounded by glass windows. With a staircase in the middle, without a railing. Seriously? How is the commander supposed to stay standing during battle while they’re being fired on? They all fell over like dominoes with the slightest shock wave in this episode. They were lucky they didn’t fall out the window.

Teddy! Defend the kingdom!

We’re counting on you!

  1. Hah, I never even noticed the bridge design of the AF ships; nice job pointing it out 🙂

I, too, thought that this episode was exactly what the show, and what Fam herself, needed. A kick in the butt! A slap in the face! Reality check!

    1. Indeed, hopefully she will narrow her sights a bit now. (who am I kidding… yeah right. But hopefully she’ll listen to Giselle more)

  2. “Up until now, everything has seemed too easy. This kid managed to capture an entire fleet by herself?”

I’m pretty sure that a lot of the more “boring” captures that weren’t shown consist of:

    1) Catching up to solitary Fed ship on patrol.
    2) Having “Reaper Ship” Silvius suddenly show up.
    3) Fam pointing this out to enemy commander, and then signalling “surrender or die”. XD
