Peach Boy Riverside Review — C+

Momotaro something something something fighting monsters racism is bad y’all.

Given the character designs, this would have been a lot better if it were classy.

Anyway, there were some things that interested me about this, mainly how it can get pretty dark, but it ended up disappointing. There were so many interesting plot directions that never went anywhere and the show just ended randomly. 99% of everyone’s problems would be resolved if they just talked to each other. The main character is dumb.

It’s trying to have a message of accepting others, but that’s undermined when the humans’ learned fear of monsters proves to be very justified, with ogres repeatedly massacring entire countries! The whole thing about the hare people being discriminated against is very weird when there is only one hare person in the entire show and she is super cool but only because she isn’t actually a hare person! What…

  • Storytelling – C – Suffered especially from a weird ending point.
  • Voice – B – I do like how it can quickly get very dark.
  • Characters – C – Interesting enough.
  • Attention Grab – C – I finished.
  • Production – B – Looks fine.
  • Overall – C+

Recommendations – Fullmetal Alchemist
