Seisen Cerberus Review — D-

Hiro becomes a hero.

Seisen Cerberus was the frustratingly generic and pointless fantasy show of the season. I wanted to like it, because it does have one nice thing going for it— the main character. It’s not brilliant writing or anything (in fact, it’s terrible), but he is unique in how completely incompetent he is and how confident he is in spite of all that. Much of the earlier episodes consists of Hiro making a complete fool of himself while all his friends make fun of him behind his back.

Sadly, that one redeeming feature wasn’t nearly enough to save the show, which was completely forgettable and pointless. There’s no reason to give a crap about any of the characters, and the plot doesn’t really matter. It was pretty much the sequel to Comet Lucifer. Except possibly worse. It’s hard to say.
