Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru Zoku Review — A-

Me too.

Wtf. I thought the first season was okay. But this second season completely blew me away. I finally understand why Froggy loves this so much.

I think the best part is how the creators don’t assume the audience is composed of idiots without any emotional intelligence. It doesn’t have the character say “I am sad.” It actually shows them acting sad. Or they hide how they feel (to varying degrees of effectiveness) and you have to figure it out yourself.

Furthermore, it just feels pretty true to life. Like with Hikki’s ex. Or with that stupid club president from the other school who just kept spouting buzzwords. I’ve certainly been there before…

I absolutely loved this second season of Oregairu.

  • Storytelling – A – Amazing.
  • Voice – A – Hikki’s attitude keeps things unique.
  • Characters – A – They really came into their own this season. I can’t think of a single character I didn’t love.
  • Attention Grab – A – Always kept my interest.
  • Production – B – Looks fine.
  • Overall – A-

  1. Arg. Wow. This is kinda rare, there are actually two legitimate gems this spring. I’m torn between this and Sound Euphonium as my anime of this season.

  2. Why is this series popular? I don’t understand any of it…I guess I can’t connect to a character like jackass Hikki cause I wasn’t as depressing as him in high school, but of course that was a LOONNGGG time ago for me so maybe I just don’t care because I didn’t go through a lot of his problems…I saw season one and I’ve come to realize good god I hate all the characters in this series LOL

Haganai >>>> Snafu for me any day! Yeah I know Haganai won’t get a s3 while Snafu probably will…

    1. Wait.. what?

I might have agreed if we’re talking about the first season since Haganai S1 had that oomph which Oregairu lacked

Haganai S2 was reduced to your run-of-the-mill harem series (although the MC is smart enough) but Oregairu S2 took that route differently and paid off beautifully by giving everyone his/her fair share of spotlight. Episode 8 and 13 of Oregairu S2 alone are enough to dispel the whole season 2 of Haganai.

  3. Oregairu Zoku makes me love it and wrote many Oregairu analysis, since there are many interesting characters and mysterious story. If you finish light novel or anime, you should try reading my analysis.

Actually, I just want your opinion after reading it/them. If you have free time, please don’t hesitate to visit. And I will not stop writing Oregairu analysis since it’s awesome.
