What if Scott Pilgrim died in his first fight?
I barely remember the movie (haven’t seen it since it came out) but this ruled so hard. I’m kind of shocked. What makes it feel so unique I think is how it’s an international collaboration. It’s animated by Science Saru (heavily influence by the original comic I assume? haven’t read it) and has an American / Canadian sense of humor. It’s probably just because it’s my own culture but I think it’s much funnier than most anime due to that.
The take on romance is a very Canadian take as well which I appreciated. You never see exes in anime…
I highly recommend this, it’s absolutely not the same as the movie (which you should probably watch / rewatch first).
