Sora no Method — First Impressions

Cute girls create loads of unnecessary drama.

Well, it’s very well produced. I’ll give it credit for that. Gorgeous backgrounds, lots of motion, an excellent soundtrack.

The reason I’m not jumping up and down in excitement is the subject matter. So much drama. Ugh. Mostly based on stupid misunderstandings, with conflicts which proceed to explode beyond any reasonable proportion.

It’s certainly among the top shows of its genre, however, for whatever that’s worth.

  1. This episode was boring but I’ll keep an eye on what people are saying to see if it gets better. The author has written interesting things – Naoki Hisaya wrote Sola, and some arcs from Kanon, before going on hiatus for…forever, and now he’s returned to write this. Sola started with a chance meeting and then some vampire fight. Maybe Naoki Hisaya has gotten rusty and forgotten how to write a good dramatic hook. But at least the music is pleasant.

    1. Interesting, I didn’t realize that. I really loved Sola, although I wasn’t the biggest fan of Kanon. This one looks like it’s going in a different direction than his previous works too, no romance at all so far.
