The Week in Anime Winter 2015 #4 — Lover’s Suicide

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso: Welp, I sure didn’t see that one coming. So dumb. They’re going to have a hard time convincing me that this cheerful girl who makes every attempt to hide her suffering from all her friends wants to commit suicide and take him with her.

Also, Arima’s piano teacher threatened to murder a ten year old girl. And no one seemed to think this was strange…

Garo: Those bastards. They killed Lara. Worst anime ever. It was great.

It was obvious she was going to die from the start, but still the way they did it was excellent. Poor Leon…

Maria the Virgin Witch: Continues to think it’s being way more thoughtful than it is. Reminds me of Maoyuu Yuusha. But not anywhere near that level of condescension. I always love historical / semi-historical stories, but they tend to leave me annoyed.

Soukyuu no Fafner Dead Aggressor: Dropped. Couldn’t follow it and I’m not going to bother trying anymore.

Durarara X2: Picking up a lot! I’m enjoying this quite a bit now.

The Rolling Girls: Still feeling disappointed with how peaceful this has become. I want more crazy battles, less traveling and making friends…

  1. At least Rolling Girls has the dandiest barmam ever. Also, Michael Bay directed at least 30 seconds of the episode. I still miss Macha Green though.

  2. “It was obvious she was going to die from the start,”

I was all, no way. They can’t do this. Look at that ending song. It is a cannon ship. All of this foreshadowing is just a red herring. No way she will die. The anime wants us to ship them so hard. She won’t die. No way she could die. But then she did. I HATE YOU GARO!
