22 / 7 Review — B

A creepy wall forms an idol group.

I really liked the idea of it. The central theme is that 22/7 shows a group gathering together due to outside forces and then eventually deciding to take responsibility for themselves.

But the execution left much to be desired. First, the ending went against the main theme in trying to make the stupid wall out to be the good guy for some reason. Second, most of the middle part of the show was focused on individual characters. And most of their stories just weren’t all that interesting or memorable. (I only found out a couple weeks ago from Marina, apparently this is a real life idol group too? And one of them is Sally Amaki who is really funny on twitter, although I know nothing about her idoling)

It was fine. But AKB0048 was better. I should have rewatched AKB0048 instead.

  • Storytelling – B – Fine.
  • Voice – B – Cool concept, execution not too interesting.
  • Characters – C – Some were fine but most I already forgot.
  • Attention Grab – C – Seen worse.
  • Production – B – Meh.
  • Overall – X
