Aku no Hana 06 — La dee la dee da I’m not listening!

Me watching this show:

So painful.

The kids at this school make my own middle school like a friendly, welcoming place. Middle school sucked. I’m so glad we all grew out of that.

Nakamura presents our main character with a startling fact about Saeki: she wants to fuck him.

You’d think he’d be somewhat pleased with this, although still embarrassed. But no, he’s in complete denial.

I was quite innocent when I was his age as well, but comparing her to the Virgin Mary…? I mean come on. Plus Jesus had lots of brothers, I’m pretty sure Mary fucked Joseph. Although actually this is a controversial theological issue.

This here is the kind of thing that made me originally like this manga so much: even Saeki has a fucked-up self that Nakamura is going to attempt to reveal. Everyone is fucked up. It’s the fact that I have to actually sit through all the awkwardness in the anime format is what makes it so hard for me to enjoy this show. In the manga you can just read more quickly so you don’t have to actually sit through and soak in all the teenage pain and awkwardness.

This friend doesn’t have any good karma since he talks to people at the urinal. Nakamura won’t have to do much digging to figure out why he’s fucked up. The scum of the earth.

  1. “This friend doesn’t have any good karma since he talks to people at the urinal. Nakamura won’t have to do much digging to figure out why he’s fucked up. The scum of the earth.”

Worst person in the show, easily.

  2. I have long since stopped being able to relate to school stuff like this and am instead taking glee in these teens dancing in the palm of my hand as they delight me. Dance puppets dance! Satisfy my lust for cruelty, and not in the retarded way that Hell Girl did it.

    1. I enjoy that kind of thing like with Milky Holmes. But these characters are too realistic and seeing them suffer like this hits a bit too close to home.

  3. ” In the manga you can just read more quickly so you don’t have to actually sit through and soak in all the teenage pain and awkwardness.”
    This.
With the manga, I read the horrifying parts reaaaaally fast, but then was horrified more by the fact that they never ended.

    1. Pretty much. I don’t think I got past Ch. 20 in the manga, actually. (That was all that was out so far when I read it.)

  4. Jesus definitely has brothers and sisters. I am pretty sure I have read a verse which sounds like this: After Joseph has been informed by the angel about Mary’s virginal pregnancy, he decided not to have sex with her until that mentioned baby is born. Also it was clearly stated that Joseph and Mary are still legally married couple during the story of 12 years old Jesus. They didn’t do it during all that time? Hahaha. Give me a break.
