As anyone who’s ever watched anime suspected, the Princess isn’t actually dead! Just needs some CPR! Which Inaho is able to provide.
Shockingly, Inaho doesn’t just giggle and give mouth to mouth, he actually does chest compressions and does the whole thing properly! Well close enough to properly. For anime, anyway.
This is because Inaho is a terribly unrealistic character. No realistic character would be able to keep calm in an emergency and think with a level head! The only realistic character is an immature brat like Amuro Rey. But not too whiny like Shinji, that is unrealistic.
Ugh, why are all mecha protagonists the same? Mecha anime suck.
Red’s Revenge

Despite what she says, Red doesn’t really hate all Martians. I mean, she and her dad are Martians, and it’s not like she hates herself. What angers her is that the Princess could be accepted as herself, as a Martian, and she believed that she could not. It’s jealousy.
Tragically the Princess releases her super-move, being too nice.
It’s a critical hit.
Luckily Inaho makes the save.
And gives her the gun back. Quite a bit of trust despite her murder attempt from ten seconds ago. At least his sister locks her up afterwards…
Further Thoughts
This continues to be one of the show’s main themes, as revealed in the subtitle. “Justice.” It’s foolish to think your actions are just. But it’s even more foolish to abandon all pretense at justice because of this and just goes for vengeance.
What? I mean, the landing castles did a lot of damage… but I don’t see this as an extinction level event. Plenty of people seemed to still be alive in Japan at least.

Notice how the adults practically done nothing while Inaho save the day. Yaaayyy -_-
Well, that’s mecha anime. Or most anime in general.
I couldn’t quite tell if being a terribly unrealistic character is bad or just sarcasm from what you said.
Anyway, as badass as Inaho is in this whole war setting, I do feel we’re gonna need some sort of backstory or explanation for the way he is. The only obstacle that seemed to pin him down REMOTELY was when he was unable to shoot the midair firearm by Femianne. Even then, he’s already well within gary-stu spectrum.
I do think his emotionless yet pragmatic demenour is fine, somewhat of an absurdist archetype that is quite appealing to me. The issue is that I feel he’s almost untouchable as a character with no flaws whatsoever. Something’s gotta give… at some point.
I’m being sarcastic. I think he’s fine as a character, lots of other people are complaining about him though.
Inaho does have a flaw— he kind of sucks at interacting with other people. Eventually this will probably bite him in the ass.
The reason he doesn’t bother me nearly as much as Tatsuya is because Tatsuya is perfect at EVERYTHING (he can even lip read) while Inaho is good at keeping his cool and planning. It’s a much more limited skill set.
