One of my highlights for the year was doing the Queen’s Blade Colloquiums with the folks from The Classiest Anime (our work there is still ongoing, if you’re interested, although it’s no longer being cross-posted to this site).

It’s a tradition among anime blogs to share your favorite moments from the past year of anime over the twelve days of Christmas. It’s also a tradition among anime blogs to not know when the twelve days of Christmas are. But hey, whatever. Let’s get started.
The first memorable moment comes from Aquarion Evol:

Stuck in the middle of a bizarre episode filled with bananas, this was the highlight of the show. So romantic.
I could have easily done twelve posts all on Mawaru Penguindrum. But I controlled myself, and picked a single moment: when Ringo attempted to spawn frog eggs on Shouma’s back in order to make a love potion for Tabuki. This is probably the moment when Ringo’s insanity peaked.
This scene somehow manages to simultaneously be both utterly disgusting and utterly adorable; completely innocent and completely twisted. Just look at this shot, which I think captures the feeling perfectly:

This is a third contender in the terribad category. Kamisama Dolls was utterly pointless and directionless, and this event really brought that home.
