I enjoyed Jitsu wa Watashi wa a lot. It triggered some sort of nostalgic flags for me. It feels like it’s been a while since we’ve gotten this sort of “traditional” romantic comedy harem.
Romantic comedies like Jitsu wa Watashi wa used to be one of the most popular genres. Love Hina, Seto no Hanayame, School Rumble, Full Metal Panic, Zero no Tsukaima, Ouran High School, the various Tenchis, Nagasarate Airantou, Toradora, BakaTest, etc., etc. Not to mention classics like Green Green. It felt like we could never escape. But lately it feels like these kinds of shows have been abandoned. There are still comedy shows with romance elements, but they seem to be either porn (i.e., To Love Ru, High School DxD), complete shit (i.e., this recent gem), or focused on the comedy to the near-exclusion of any romance elements (i.e., TWINTAILS, Korea wa Zombie, Daimidaler (which also fits under porn)). I don’t object to the shift to utterly ridiculous comedies, it’s an enormous improvement, but I do occasionally miss the romantic comedies like Jitsu wa Watashi wa which feel like a trip to the past.
And now I’m talking like an old guy but this stuff was popular just what, five years ago? Things sure change fast. Or maybe this is all in my head.

- Voice – B – I like it specifically because it’s not all that unique (but still good).
- Characters – B – Alien is best girl.
- Attention Grab – B – One of the shows I looked forward to most this season.
