This is one of my favorite manga.

And what a disappointing first episode…

It wasn’t actually bad, just not any good.

This manga has some great drama, some crazy good romance, and amazing art. It’s like a better Chihayafuru. The anime was overly dramatic and generally felt half-assed. It didn’t manage to capture anything I liked about the manga. It’s not quite as disappointing as Grand Blue, but still extremely disappointing.

I would argue that the manga even had a better soundtrack. (figure that one out)
