Off to a great start.
Well, I wasn’t particularly impressed by the first half. It more or less amounted to a ton of beamspamming. It sure did look pretty, but I didn’t find it exciting.
The second half, which takes place on Earth, was much more interesting. Yeah, a chase between humans is more exciting than a chase between giant robots and aliens. Funny how that works. I also find it amusing how the main heroine spent this episode getting lugged around like a sack of potatoes. She has a cool costume though and I already like her. Spunky but apparently without the enormous deficit in cranial matter that typically accompanies that trait in anime.
At the moment it looks like I’ll probably blog this, Aku no Hana, and Shingeki no Kyojin. No clue what else. Will probably put up a poll later this week to see what y’all think.
Great first episode with lots of awesome animation and decent CGI for once! It was kind of chatter filled, but overall a lot of fun to watch! Especially with the voice cast? Hisako Kanemoto as Amy and Sugita Tomokazu as Chamber was a nice surprise <3
I like the voice cast so far. CGI was good but the space battle went on for too long I think.
First half really felt like desperation, pretty effects but I couldn’t care much in the end what’s going on, hopefully they’ll shed more detail on the alien race itself later.
But I trust Urobuchi with this one, he really established the setting this time around making the anime look adventurous yet perilous to whats in the future.
This setting just seems so much more fun than Urobuchi’s other works. For once I’m hoping he doesn’t butcher everybody…
