Giant goldfish rampage around town.
The hook before the OP is a panty shot. Off to a great start.
This is the third time someone’s attempted to animate this series. The first attempt was frankly crap. The OVAs were pretty good. This season is by the same people who made the OVAs I believe and it seems to be off to a good start as well.
With three reboots, I’ve seen a lot of this franchise. And I have to say I was never all that impressed. It’s a cool setting and all, and this and the OVA certainly look pretty, but the problem is the characters. They just aren’t interesting. This isn’t a problem with a bland male lead, either: all the characters are equally uninspired. I can’t bring myself to care much about these people.
I agree with you re the characters (I never really learned who was who during the OVA’s). But it looks pretty indeed and the show is so playful and easy to watch that it doesn’t really matter to me!
I noted that there were lots of fanservice. Your panty shot was perhaps the most impressive, but it felt like every second picture focussed either on legs, on panties or on one of the characters moving in a kind of seductive way. In this respect it reminded me of Aiura. There is a lot of fanservice, but I never felt it was forced or annoying. I must admit that I quite like such anime with good production values, not too much of deep story and this sort of decent fanservice!
I’m still watching it as well, it is pleasant even if it isn’t the most exciting story, perhaps. Fanservice is not too in your face about it. Only problem is that the main character getting all the fanservice looks like a little kid.
