I thought this was the best episode so far, although that isn’t saying much.
The mystery surround Misaki isn’t working for me— yet. So far it’s been way too predictable. Her eye? Called it. And the fact that no one else could see her? It was too obvious to even bother calling it. They shouldn’t have bothered acting like this was a big mystery. Continue reading Another 03 — Umbrellas Kill
The yacht club finishes its final exams and begins its maiden voyage in space.
Was this episode boring? A bit. It certainly wasn’t bodacious. The creators sure are taking their sweet time about turning Marika into a pirate. Since this show is going to be two seasons, I think it will probably work out in the end. But I am getting impatient. Continue reading Moretsu Pirates 03 — Masts Ahoy!
This week, my songwriting ambitions reach new heights as I present my latest musical arrangement, a soaring rendition of the classic ballad, “There’s a Hole in my Bucket.” The lyrics are accompanied by fine works of art provided by Foshiizzel from Metanorn. (If you don’t already read his posts, go check them out!)
If you’re wondering why this post is so late, it’s because Foshiizzel and I were trying to recruit a duo of professional musicians to bring this piece to life with the love it so dearly deserves. Unfortunately, the plans fells apart at the last minute, so you’ll have to sing to yourself (on a related note, if any readers do enjoy singing, please contact me).

The world has been conquered by aliens. But Harlock, with his proud heritage as a pirate-knight of Arcadia, isn’t giving up the fight yet.
This is the second work of Matsumoto Leiji I’ve seen, after Space Battleship Yamato, so indulge me while I compare the two. They both have the same bittersweet feel— the certainty of loss coupled with a twinkle of hope. Arcadia is the stronger of the two, emotionally. It left me feeling fairly depressed. This show just keeps getting better and better! This episode was all one huge battle as the Federation invades Glacies.
They really know how to keep you on the edge of your seat. There were so many twists and turns in this battle! First the complete annihilation of the provincial fleet (regrettable, of course, hahaha, a nice touch), then the destruction of the sky priestesses, followed by gigantic artillery coming out of the ground.
