Aldnoah Zero 07 — Inaho Calmly Eliminates His Love Rival; My BL Ship is Sunk

Inaho is great. So calm in the face of danger.

Doesn’t feel the slightest guilt about exploiting the princess either! And why should he? She’s practically begging him to use her.

People are starting to even listen to Inaho. Even the adults aren’t idiots and realize he’s pretty good, even if he’s just a teenager.

Gah I love this show. It knows all the right buttons to push to get my excitement up. Split second decision-making, characters who actually take action instead of whining all the time, and some excellent action sequences and music to back them up.

The princess is thinking that the war happened because she naively came to Earth to make peace. While that is the direct cause, it’s simply bringing the underlying conflict to the surface. Things would have bubbled over into war eventually regardless of her actions.

She phrases her worry above quite strangely though. People would not have been made to suffer unjustly. To suffer unjustly. What does that even mean? Is there just suffering? Perhaps as punishment for crimes, but the suffering of non-combatant victims of war is inherently unjust.

On the opposite end of concern about unjust suffering is this girl, who delivers the finishing blow to today’s Martian of the Week. Her anger is mostly misplaced (her father was a traitor after all…) but regardless, an awesome kill. First the enemy gets steamrolled by a floating battleship, then finished off with a single bullet just as she’s about to get up. A beautifully choreographed scene.

In short, not much to say this week except that the battle was awesome. Can’t wait for next week. Will Inaho turn tsundere for Slaine? Or will he NTR Slaine with the princess? Only time will tell…

  1. Inaho is the reincarnation of Eru-Erufu rightfully made protagonist. ALL HAIL INAHO.

…speaking of “hails”, anyone feeling like the Vers emperor looks like a pussified version of Emperor Charles zi Britannia? And this week’s Knight was a bit Cornelia-ish. For all the fuss about Urobuchi, this series looks more like a more competent and less cheesy than ordinary Okouchi series.

    1. ALL HAIL INAHO.

Yeah, Vers does appear to have a lot in common with Brittania, what with the whole peerage thing in particular.

  2. This anime certainly brings back memory about Code Geass.
Which is a very pleasant welcome.
A anime with packed actions instead of talking about FEELS.
And just like CG, it’s not mere actions, it has plot going around too.

    1. Yep! Although so far Inaho’s twist are not nearly as exciting as Lelouch’s. Lelouch is a master of strategy, while Inaho is merely dabbling in tactics… Or at least that’s what Lelouch would say.

  3. Now’s all is left for Inaho is to kill that naive martian princess should she refuse to force her people to surrender after he already know that she’s alive. Why, I bet he’s going to use her as a political puppet to free his home planet of its people and when all the martians are dead, Inaho will kill her in a heartbeat. In the opening, it was shown that the princess holding the gun, but I bet that she doesn’t have the stomach to pull the trigger.
