A cool ninja guy goes around collecting recalled products with his robot buddy.
The first episode made it look so good! Some cool action scenes, an interesting setting, a cool older main character… what’s not to like? As it turns out, a lot.
It was all downhill from there. A lot of random side stories and random throwaway characters (who sadly were not always thrown away). The story was just plain dumb. Lots of crap about memories and possibilities and a stupid evil mad scientist. It all climaxed with the worst ending in recent memory. I share Reiseng’s feelings on the ending:
This might have been my favourite scene this final episode. #DimensionW pic.twitter.com/8FwcSTDPf5

What a joke. The second to last episode ends with a completely random transformation into a giant octopus monster. The hero remembers his memories and becomes a fucking Buddha. The robot grows a fucking heart. The creepy die guys. Cry me a river.
I don’t know. In the grand scheme of things it wasn’t all that bad. Just average from what I’ve come to expect from anime. But it’s all the more frustrating since based on the first episode, it could have been so much better.
What is with this tendency in anime to always tell the same story? They always have to throw in some crap about how memories are important, or how they want to murder god, or how knowing that you’re you will solve all your problems. Why can’t we just blow shit up and leave that kind of stuff alone for once.
- Storytelling – C – Could have been so much better…
- Voice – B – Liked the style quite a bit (at least initially). Great OP too.
- Characters – C – One of the weakest parts. None of them felt that fleshed out aside from Kyouma, but that was kind of ruined by that joke of an ending…
- Attention Grab – B – No trouble here.
- Production – B – Looked pretty good.
- Overall – C
Recommendations – Darker than Black, Valvrave (better understanding of possibilty)
“It all climaxed with the worst ending in recent memory.”
I thought this award went to Aldnoah Zero.
I have a short memory, ok?

I totally agree!
I was not blown away by this show either, though I had a slightly more favorable opinion of it than you did. Apparently Enzo saw something in the show that neither of us did:

Yeah… I didn’t see what he saw at all…
Y’know, after all that teasing about the truth behind Easter Island and how it connected to Miyabi’s death…I had expected the dramatic revelation to be, well, revealing. I mean, why did Miyabi’s ghost (?) stop Kyouma from getting Genesis to her (however that’s supposed to happen)? Why did she suddenly became all-knowing about it?
And you’d think the internal struggle would’ve been stronger considering the stakes was, but no, girl just says “don’t” and the guy was “okay, sure.”
Exactly. It all seemed pointless at the end.
