Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka?!! Of the Dead 04 — Dere Dere Showdown

Apparently every single person Ayumu knows has been either working at or frequenting a maid cafe without telling him. Not exactly the best setup for an episode, it feels like they’re just killing time now. It had its moments, but overall this was fairly meh.

It has come to mind that one of the reasons I enjoy this show, despite all its flaws, is that there is little ambiguity in the relationships between the characters. It’s a harem show but the indecisiveness isn’t the focus. For Ayumu, Eu is his ideal woman, Seraphim is his bully, Haruna is a little kid, Tomonori is his friend, and Sarasvati is his crazy stalker. There’s none of this “he loves me / he loves me not” angst going on in this show.

I especially like Sarasvati, because she knows exactly what she wants and she isn’t ashamed of trying to get it.

As for the contest, Ayumu’s fortunate that Eu didn’t try to win.

And I’m of course disappointed he didn’t get to face Sarasvati.

But Ayumu truly had to fight the ultimate final boss. Even more surprisingly, Orito finally did something useful.

Dai-sensei has been torturing Kyouko in her secret chamber for ages now… I hope she gets out soon so we can get on with this. And is it just me or have Tomonori’s breasts been steadily growing since the first season?

  1. Mihara’s reaction (your last picture) was hilarious! This came completely out of the left field for me as I had thought that Mihara was into Tae-chan. It was the first time I actually laughed in KoreZombie II. Mihara also looks quite cute.

Besides her, Anderson-kun also rose in my favourites list.

“And is it just me or have Tomonori’s breasts been steadily growing since the first season?” I noticed that, too. Alas.

    1. Yeah, that was probably the funniest part so far. Otherwise it’s mostly rehashes of the same jokes. Ayumu dressing as a magical girl and the Mysteltain kick will never get old for me though. 🙂

Anderson rose in my estimation as well. I barely even remember him from before though, so he had a lot of room to rise.

  2. Just wanna help out with a spelling mistake. “Sarasvati is his bully, Haruna is a little kid, Tomonori is his friend, and Sarasvati is his crazy stalker. ” I think you meant Seraphim is his bully, Haruna is a little kid, Tomonori is his friend, and Sarasvati is his crazy stalker. “

  3. Loved this episode because of the amazing tsundere cafe and Yuki’s GO HOME MASTER! Hers was the best one, but the biggest “plot” development goes to Anderson-kun’s big reveal as another “supernatural” character…I wonder if he is actually the reincarnated King of Night? I wouldn’t be to shocked if that was revealed soon…

As much as I loveeeee these episodes and the series as a whole I really want the real plot to arrive and more info on Chris-chan and Anderson-kun! Who and what are they? SOOOON….

    1. What?!!! But the King of Night was reincarnated as a penguin and lived happily ever after! Anderson can’t be the king of night!

I kind of want things to get moving as well, although these episodes are fun, particularly because they have Sarasvati. 🙂

  4. Truth be told I like this episode best so far out the first 5. My only complain is there’s so few Tae moments. I like her and Tomonori best because they portray the idea of the nice, happy family part.

    TQ

    1. Oh yes I would love to see more Tae too. I had hardly even noticed her during the first season until the OVA. Then I started shipping her so hard.
