… JAXA, JAXA, JAXA… it’s a miracle they’ll be in a position to send people to the moon in 2035 if they’re using their funding like this…
Right… Only you guys are dumb enough to want to build humanoid robots.
But I guess even JAXA isn’t stupid enough to want to build one like they have in anime.
I can’t understand why they want to start from scratch though. Wouldn’t it be in their best interest to work from what they already have? Unless what they have so far is completely worthless. Which may well be the case. I mean, there’s no way a giant humanoid robot would ever work, much less one built by high school students.
Further Thoughts
Akiho’s dad is the best character in this show. He barely even talks, yet he has way more of a personality than parents in anime usually get. Plus, usually if parents have a job they completely neglect their children in anime— this isn’t the case with him at all. (Now, he may be abusing his job on behalf of his children, however…)
He’s such a soft-spoken guy, too shy to even tell his daughter his plans directly. So he gets Nao to do it. I particularly liked this scene:
Such a down to earth guy in the midst of all these crazy people. I love it.
Speaking of Nao, she grew up to be quite cute. But never forgive, never forget! SHE MURDERED MAYUSHII! And I loved her for it. God, Mayushii was so annoying.
I’m glad this show is finally starting to get interesting. Secret messages hidden around town, the committee of 300 that is controlling NASA from the shadows… fun stuff.
“He’s such a soft-spoken guy, too shy to even tell his daughter his plans directly.” Equally important, he doesn’t want to let his wife know about his plans!
Good point. I don’t think we’ve seen her yet though, have we?
Nah, but in ep. 4 when Akiho openly asks her father for funding instead of declining he refers to her mother, as I recall. So it seems the mother is the strong one in that family.
Ah you’re right. Mothers always wield all the power.
The problem is, they used a diesel machine?
Wow. How dumb.
I thought they installed a nuclear reactor in it.
Diesel? How primitive and quaint.
