Tokyo Tribes — Eleven Days of Advent and One Day of Christmas #7
It’s not really anime, and it’s not really this year, but whatever. Thanks to the urging of Mr. Flawfinder I watched Tokyo Tribes a few months ago.
It was insane. The whole movie is done in rap / hip hop music. Which I don’t even like. But daaamn this movie was entertaining. I think this scene perfectly encapsulates the experience of Tokyo Tribes:
It’s bizarre and wild and insane and a lot of fun.
Later I watched “Love Exposure” by the same director. And it was even better. It’s about a boy who becomes a master at taking panty shots in order to rouse the interest of his father, who is a priest. And it gets even crazier from there. Sadly it wasn’t done in rap though.
