This episode was hilarious. Hakaze’s crush on Yoshino is funny enough on its own.
But then we have a car filled with bishies discussing the ramifications of said crush, with all the finesse, strategy and trickery they devoted to saving the world and discussing time travel over the last four episodes? Priceless.
I like that Hakaze is not confined to half-naked narration on a deserted island now. She’s actually not that bad to watch when she’s with Yoshino. On that note, both Yoshino and Mahiro are much more bearable when they aren’t together. The shipping works a lot better this way too. Yoshino with Hakaze is fine, and Mahiro with Samon is perfect. Together Yoshino and Mahiro just grate on me though. I had the same feeling with Nezumi and Shion in No. 6. The two of them togetherwere boring, even though they were each fine on their own.
The mage of Exodus (or person with magic powers of Exodus, at least) makes a nice addition to the cast. I enjoyed how Hakaze kept bullying him.
We had some classic scenes in the second half as well:
Like when Hakaze’s arm fell off, and she regenerated it like it was no big deal. I feel bad for the new guy.
Best line. “I feel like something is awakening within my DNA…”
Hakaze does work a lot better when she’s actually interacting with people directly. I just hope the show knows how to keep things suspenseful with her around, since we already know she can kick everyone’s ass.
Definitely. Making anyone just talk in the phone all the time can kill their character pretty fast though.
With a mage of Exodus showing up, I bet there will be plenty of danger for her.
I’m enjoying the mix of approaches in this anime. I wish more out there were this rich in both humor and drama. Are there others you might recommend? I’m currently watching this one, PSYCHO-PASS, and Shin Sekai Yori. Thanks for any recommendations.
Always happy to give recommendations. Here are my suggestions for this season, although it’s a pretty weak season all around (SSY and PSYCHO-PASS are the best things currently airing, imo). If you don’t mind watching some older things, here are my favorite series of all time.
Glad Hakaze is a more active part of the anime now 🙂 Nice to look at and the crush part is cute. I just hope that Yoshino doesn’t abuse this.
Enjoying the story so far (last episode, catchup episode was really not needed, never been a fan of catchup episodes) So was glad that this started moving again 🙂
Yeah, I didn’t bother blogging the last episode because it was just a summary more or less. Hakaze is way better here than providing disembodied narration.
