A magic blob forces a girl to be in an otome game in real life.
This is probably the best romantic comedy we’ve had since Gamers? And I wouldn’t have know it even existed if it weren’t for Marina.
This one succeeds because it actually has a sense of humor, unlike most anime. And I was honestly kind of shocked how it went from the humor to follow up with a pretty serious and also good ending. It was clever how the show introduced all the male characters as one dimensional jokes who it seemed like you weren’t supposed to take seriously, and then they ended up having a surprising amount of depth to them.
One other thing I especially want to mention— it was great how this show actually looked like a cartoon. Like Bugs Bunny and things. The characters would frequently deform, they would have cartoonish facial expressions, lots of non-realistic looking effects. It made the show feel much more passionate and alive.
