A bunch of weirdos with giant robots fight kaiju.
This fucking ruled.
It’s similar to Gridman in that it’s for the most part, a very chill super robot show? They seamlessly transition from these epic fights to chatting with the villains and watching them go bowling. All the characters except Gauma are extremely half-assed. I think one of my favorite moments was when Minami mumbled her new attack name, “Something Something Beam” and Gauma shouted a cooler sounding one over her. Captures the ethos of the show.
This is the kind of show that develops a character more through ten seconds of their body language than other shows can do in ten minutes of dialog. The character designs and development are all outstanding. I don’t think I can even pick a favorite because they were all great. Ok maybe Goldburn is my favorite despite never saying a single word. Also love the way they did the villains.
The animation is amazing, and every single transformation sequence is some badass shit.
Kind of want to go back and watch this again next week…
