Boogiepop wa Warawanai — First Impressions

Not really sure how to explain this.

I really loved the atmosphere in this first episdoe, even if I’m not entirely sure what’s going on. It feels like something from the 90s.

I especially love Boogiepop and her voice actor. So creepy in this endearing kind of way.

Looking forward to the rest of this one!

  1. You know I’ve been describing this as a slow burn horror show, but a better description might be a supernatural dystopian thriller. Similar idea but the horror isn’t just “they’re gonna be eaten,” it’s the world around the kids.

Boogiepop (character) pretty much lays the hook out there in her first lines: What kind of a society watches people die on the sidewalk and just walks away? And applying that later, what kind of a society would rather believe kids are running away from it than that something is harming them?

(I’m looking forward to it, but I see no way this show is going to be popular lol)
