Super-genius high schoolers go to another world and make the world a better place through pre-emptive nuclear strikes.
I knew from the start I would hate this, and yes, I did. But wow it was dumb. It reminds me of Maoyuu Yuusha and the like, in the sense where it takes this view of history that modern people are so much better than our ancestors. If only some of us lived back then we would have used our knowledge to build democracies and cure disease and respect human rights. Of course this ignores the fact we haven’t really done any of these things in the present. It’s pure arrogance and lets people feel good about themselves and superior without doing squat. Jesus said it best:
‘Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous, and you say, “If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.” Thus you testify against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your ancestors. You snakes, you brood of vipers! How can you escape being sentenced to hell?
The show is pro-colonialism and takes up this idea that superior people with superior technology need to bring the native people out of their backward ways and they ought to be grateful their betters will stoop to help them.
Additional things I take issue with: wow, the romance is awful. Why the fuck does anyone like this guy. It should be all the women with harems.
The advanced politicking is like how a teenager with chuunibyou imagines politics is like. Same with the science. And probably all the other geniuses too whose shit I know nothing about. The entire concept of a genius who can do everything by themselves is absurd and fuels this fantasy that people earn everything they have and are able to accomplish anything of significance without community based purely on their own merit.

Recommendations – Any other isekai where they don’t nuke people or abuse women (although the latter is not a problem here to be clear).
