This show is at its best when it’s completely ridiculous. And that’s what this episode was.
Now, the fiancee can be annoying at times. But he’s generally amusing, especially with how he’s dragging Karuta around with him. The way I see it, anything that distracts from the teenage drama between Ririchiyo and Souta can only be a good thing.
There was plenty of that this week, however. “I live with him, but I came home late tonight and couldn’t see him… will he hate me forever???” Souta was pretty insensitive though. Ririchiyo had it right originally, I feel:
I wish they’d just make Karuta the main character. Then I wouldn’t mind the romance stuff if it was her and Watanuki. But with Ririchihyo and Soushi, I can’t particularly bring myself to care either way. Individually they’re fine, but honestly, I don’t even think they go well together. If they ever got married they’d probably divorce after a couple years.
New Costumes
There were a lot this week!
First is little girl Ririchiyo’s winter outfit. Pretty cute!
Next we have Karuta in a china dress with a dog collar and her hair in buns. It’s my favorite from this week, although it would be vastly improved without the collar.
We have Soushi in his casual clothes and glasses. I like the glasses, but I prefer the butler uniform.
Then we have this guy’s nightwear. I guess he always wears the mask, even when he sleeps in bathes. He’ll lose his X-Rounder powers if he ever removes it.
Finally we have… this. Do not want. What is with those pants? They look hideous.
I like all of Ririchiyo’s outfits, even the one with the pants. As long as they show off her long slender legs, they’re fine by me.
Haha the rest of her appearance aside from the skirt is mighty fine, I would agree. That shorts / skirt combination just looks so awkward though…
…really? i actually liked that soushi wasn’t his usual super obident self. i liked that he actually gave her some attitude. maybe they can be dull, but i actually like our main duo. ive read the manga though, so maybe theres a difference for watching the anime?
I’d agree that him giving her some attitude was an improvement over how it usually is. Still though, I just can’t get behind the two of them for some reason…
I assume her outfit in your last picture is supposed to be the same as in the end of ep1(except for the different tights): http://bit.ly/FQrHzl . Agreed that the pants look awful (I watched this ep.). As a skirt it would look decent, however. Apart from the pants thing this is by far my favourite Ririchyo outfit. In particular the sweater looks awesome on her and these are unfortunately pretty rare in anime. Therefore I will consider the pants thing as a drawing error!
You’re right, I’d forgotten all about that outfit. The rest of the outfit does look good though, I agree. I like the pattern on her leggings as well.
