Finally the last one!
Key: Recommend, Highly Recommend, Highest Recommendation.
Please let me know if I’m missing anything good!
The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor: A boy starts playing a video game in order to sell his character and get rich. Anoter narou type story, this one’s pretty great, lots of excitement and trickery plus occasional good shipping. This one doesn’t get bogged down too much in the game mechanics like many other similar stories (although it still does spend a decent amount of time on them). Not the greatest in the shipping department, but makes up for it in other aspects.
Tomo-chan wa Onna no Ko!: A girl is good at karate and stuff so people don’t see her as a girl. This is in an interesting format, with single page chapters. Ok shipping, fairly funny. I especially like Tomo’s asshole friend. (Yeah, you all could probably guess I would like her.)
Tower of God: This is pretty much the most epic fantasy manwha / manga ever. It’s super long with a crapload of characters. Exciting story with tons of betrayal and revenge and shit. Not to mention some super fabulous shipping. My one criticism is that it often gets bogged down in lengthy, convoluted battles. And these battles are by far the least interesting parts of the story.
Tsujiura-san to Chupacabra: A love comedy about a violent girl who is obsessed with chupacabras. That’s right, just read that last sentence again. It’s obvious I’m going to dig this shit.
Tsuyokute New Saga: A hero goes back in time to stop the demon king before the invasion. This has been fabulous so far. What I especially enjoy is how he meets old friends from his previous life, and discovers new things about them that he never knew before (like that they are evil bastards that he needs to kill). Good shipping too.
UQ Holder!: Sequel to Negima. Negima is great too if you haven’t read it yet. Some of the best shipping. Too many best girls though… hard to choose.
Uwakoi: Another harem story. This time every single character is a total shitbag. Love it. Be warned, pretty close to porn.
Watari-kun no xx ga Houkai Sunzen: A boy confronts his dark past… the girl who destroyed his garden! This is a love triangle story, but a rather unique one. It’s fairly nutty, although not the craziest thing I’m reading.
Watashi ni xx Shinasai!: Another of my favorite shoujo romance manga. Here, it’s about a girl whose hobby is writing crappy cellphone romance novels. She ends up getting this boy to do all these crazy things with her and eventually falls in love with him for the sake of writing her novel. Lots of sparklies. It’s stories like this that make me realize, I don’t really have anything against shoujo romances. It’s only the way they tend to be told, where they’re all indistinguishably boring. This one is not boring in the slightest, and I greatly enjoyed it.
Wizard’s Soul ~Holy War of Love~: Another adorable romance manga by the author of Bonnouji, one of my favorite mangakas. (By the way, if you haven’t read Bonnouji, do that right now, it’s amazing.) This is much more dramatic with a ton more conflict than Bonnouji, which centers around trading card games and the girls’ dark history with her mother at playing trade card games in a dickish way. Sounds silly but it’s amazing.
Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo: One of the best shipping manga currently out there. Nene is best girl, but there’s tons of great shipping. Also pretty decent story, with lots of memory wiping and body swapping fuckery going on. Plus all the weird powers make for some great creative fanservice. There’s also an anime, it’s pretty good too.
Youkai Shoujo – Monsuga: A fighting manga about a harem of youkai. This one has some top notch fanservice, with girls with strange body parts. Kind of dumb but I like it.
Yuusha ga Shinda!: The hero is killed by a boy who is good at running away and making traps. Then he is killed, but a necromancer revives him into the hero’s body. This one is weird as fuck, I’m not sure how to explain it. I like it though.
And that’s it! What great manga am I missing out on?
Pretty much my reading list ^^ also glad you mentioned bonnouji I’ve reread that so many times! Two vanilla choices:
14-sai no koi by mizutani fuka- very much like horimiya with a more sweet otp but better fleshed out side pairs
Miss Abbott and the doctor -maripaz villar – it’s a western webnovel but again adorable main couple, since you included ToG I guessed it all was fair game
Although I have to disagree with ToG having good shipping unless you include yaoi pairings :s
Thanks for the suggestions! Will check them both out!
And of course I’m counting the yaoi pairings 🙂
Two series I didn’t see in your list you should definitely check out are Oyasumi Punpun and The God’s Lie. The God’s Lie is only 5 chapters so it’s easy to read in one sitting, but it’s a great 5 chapters. 5 chapters that hit ya right in the feels.
There’s no shipping in either of them though lol. Seems you really like your harems and shipping manga.
I’m pretty sure he has already read Oyasumi Punpun. Think he loves it too (who doesn’t).
Thanks! Yeah, I’ve read oyasumi punpun, it’s my favorite of all time. The god’s lie is on my list!
It looks like we have different tastes in manga and not sure whether you look specifically for ongoings, but here – thanks for the blog and have an assorted list of titles to check out, maybe something’ll stick:
Dungeon Meshi, Gleipnir, Mitsuboshi Colors, Ogeha, Tsurebito, Fujiyama-san wa Shishunki, Gokicha, No Guns Life, Aku no Kyouten, Billion Dogs, Fire Punch, Helck, Happiness (by Shuuzou Oshimi), Made in Abyss, Kasane, Houseki no Kuni, Husk of Eden, Keyman: The Hand of Judgement, Mahou Shoujo of the End, Pochi Kuro, Somali to Mori no Kamisama, Totsukuni no Shoujo, Vulgar Ghost Daydream.
Thanks a lot, these look interesting! Will check some of them out! Only ones I’ve read part of are Fujiyama-san, Keyman, and Mahou Shoujo of the End (and liked them all)
