Aldnoah Zero — First Impressions
Whoa, Aldnoah Zero is off to an amazing start! Best first episode of the season, I think. It has Urobuchi’s mark all over it, and looks set to be one of his better anime adaptations. None of Fate / Zero’s walking around in circles, a much more compelling setting than PSYCHO PASS, and let’s pretend Gargantia never happened.
I like how the first episode plays with our emotions. First we’re introduced to the Princess and her boyfriend, and we want to strangle them for how naive and obnoxious they are.

Sword Art Online II 01 — Kirito vs. Dessert
This is part 18 of my SAO summary / fanfiction. You can start with Part 1 here.
An entire year had passed. A year since Kirito had freed Asuna from King Oberon in an epic dance battle that would be remembered down through the ages, and then chopped King Oberon up into tiny pieces while using cheat codes to maximize Oberon’s pain. Then he’d stabbed the evil King in the parking lot for good measure.
Since then, life had been good. Kirito had regular sword practice sessions with Asuna (she still couldn’t get over how massive his sword was) and stole peeks at Imouto’s fine behind while she did his laundry for him. But lately his ideal life had started to get old. Kirito was a hero, and heroes needed adventure.

Since I’m so far behind, I’m just going to do this stream of conscious style like E Minor does while I’m watching the episodes.
Episode 8
- We start off with Imouto knifing fireballs in a sexy body suit. Just what I wanted.
- Oh great, the school counselor just blew her top-secret cover to two kids. Normally it would be confidential but she’s counting on Tatsuya and Imouto to keep it secret. Of course Tatsuya then proceeds to blackmail her, telling her that in exchange she’ll keep him informed of any new secret developments with the police. Seriously, the police should just arrest this guy. Was it last episode he led a hit team to murder some people off campus?
