Unbreakable Machine-Doll — First Impressions

A boy has a doll who wants to get in bed with him. They go to school, fight other dolls, and hit on tsunderes.

Ugh. Where to begin. The doll is extremely annoying. The boy is not much better since he doesn’t have much of a personality at all. The girl they meet at the shcool— ugh. Just ugh.

It doesn’t help that the animation is pretty darn ugly either.

Regardless, any show that centers around life-sized dolls adoring their masters is bound to be a disaster. This one is no exception.

Of course! A show about one-foot-tall doll-sized doll who want to jump her owner’s bone will be a thousand times sexier. People need to make more of that.

    1. Well, I was trying to insert a caveat to avoid including Rozen Maiden, but come to think of it they don’t really adore their masters so it’s already okay.

I’m also somewhat disappointed that Yaya doesn’t seem to have any features of a “machine-doll” (ball-joints? gear-wheels?); she rather behaves like a conditioned human. Nevertheless, if a show’s title includes “machine-doll” I’ll give it a fair chance. Some of the other dolls look more machine-like and actually slightly creepy, so there is still some hope for me!
