The best way I can describe this is as a cross between Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Hyouge Mono. It has this over the top feeling with where these crazy powerful warriors sit around sipping sake and playing music, then suddenly slicing assassins in half with their pick.

But so far it lacks the characterization which made Jojo and Hyouge Mono successful. These people are crazy, for sure, but we don’t have much reason to care about them. I don’t even know who they are at this point. It’s possible the show will address this in future episodes, but I doubt it’ll live up to the standards set by its spiritual predecessors.
