Thermae Romae — First Impression

A Roman bath architect travels through the drain into the future and studies a Japanese public bath.

This was… interesting, to say the least. Unfortunately, I didn’t find it all that funny. These kind of things just seem really forced to me. Having a Roman build a Japanese style bathhouse? Um, ok… If you think that premise sounds funny, you’ll probably like this, but I didn’t.

The show this reminds me of most is Legend of Koizumi. Except Legend of Koizumi is god-tier ridiculous, this is just milking out one joke longer than it deserves.

I should mention that it looks like it was animated in Flash. The music is good though. I have to applaud anything that isn’t J-POP.

Who told you it was supposed to be a comedy ? Or did you just assume ?
