Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W Review — B

Cute Cthulhic horrors defend the Earth from aliens and try to make a high school boy fall in love with them.

If you’ve seen the first season, you know exactly what to expect. Which is a good thing. I didn’t think it was quite at the level of the first season, but still quite funny.

Kuuko is even more hilarious than last season, if that is possible. The arc focusing on her sister is excellent. And Hasuta surpasses all limits on how annoying it is possible to be. My god Hasuta, just shut up already. He seems to feel the need to tack some useless comment on the end of everything, especially in the first half of the season.

  • Storytelling – B – Excellent sense of humor.
  • Voice – B – Where else are you going to find Lovecraftian horrors in a romantic comedy?
  • Characters – B – Must. Kill. Hasuta.
  • Attention Grab – A – Never lost interest. (Except when Hasuta opened his mouth.)
  • Production – B – Decent.
  • Overall – B

Recommendations – Hataraku Maou-sama, Seto no Hanayome

  1. I dropped this one. It became too repetitive and annoying to bear. Hasuta was the worst indeed.
I skipped through all episodes though for the good shots of Kuuko. Only good thing imo. Oh and I love Nyarlko’s outfit as in your first picture!

  2. Hasuta is a failure in playing the role of yaoi little brother. I want to strangle him so bad. I haven’t even finished season 2 because of him. So, did he appear a lot in later episode?
