The Week in Anime, Fall 2013 #7 — Ships in Swimsuits

arpgeggio_gingitsune_1

Arpeggio — Ships in swimsuits barbecue party, yay! I still could care less about the ships developing emotions and whatnot, and would prefer just the shipping *ahem* and the explosions. But this is infinitely better than loli mad scientist, so there is that.

Tokyo Ravens — As I’ve stated before, I’m only watching this for Natsume’s cross-dressing and the shipping. I don’t really see what the point is of focusing on the main guy’s friend, unless they put him in a love triangle. That  hasn’t happened… yet. The Week in Anime, Fall 2013 #6 — Draggle is Forgetful

I wrote this last week and then forgot to publish it. Oops.

Noucome — I love this show. It has the same stupid perverted antics of countless anime, but it’s actually funny. For example, in thirty seconds we get a better wrestling than the entirety of another show dedicated solely to wrestling. This week’s episode was great. I can only hope that the missions and absolute choices will continue to escalate into the nightmare that is a harem.

White Album 2 — Pretty good episode, aside from the crappy J-Pop. Which was most of the episode. Why can’t they use music from the actual White Album instead of making up their own shitty J-Pop version? Continue reading The Week in Anime, Fall 2013 #6 — Draggle is Forgetful

The Week in Anime, Fall 2013 #5 — Soccer Deathmatch

Outbreak Company — Well, that sure escalated quickly. The soccer match was glorious. One of the best episodes of the season. Now I understand the absurdity of war.

NouKome — Ugh. Why did they have to make White obsessed with cute things and turn her into someone who just “couldn’t communicate her true feelings” or something like that. What BS. Her “fake” personality was vastly superior to this cutesy girly-girl one. Continue reading The Week in Anime, Fall 2013 #5 — Soccer Deathmatch

The Week in Anime, Fall 2013 #4 — Homeless Ph.Ds

galilei_tokyo_ravens_2

Galilei Donna — The homeless people in anime always have a Ph.D. That’s going to be me soon.

Ars Nova — I want to see more ship harem battles. Not some random girl in her underwear and crying over lolis. Zzzzzzz. Also am I the only one who breaks out singing Cotton Eye Joe when an episode ends?

Kyoukai no Konata — This is getting pretty good. Kyoani can even make a character like Mirai compelling. I imagine that if I ever read the Hyouka novels I wouldn’t have come away nearly as impressed as I was once Kyoani was through with them. The Week in Anime, Fall 2013 #3 — Jeep vs. Stealth Bomber

coppelion_outbreak_company_1

Coppelion — First they mistake a stealth bomber for a crow. It attacks them with a machine gun mounted to its nose. Then they catch up to the stealth bomber in a Jeep. Then they shoot it down with a rocket launcher. Because the bottom is its weak point. Then they are worried that it will crash land in a tiny pond, which will douse the fire, allowing it to immediately take off and escape again. When it has a giant hole in it and has just crashed. Oh, and by the way, these girls who mistook a stealth bomber for a crow are professional soldiers. I… I like Valvrave, and this is too stupid for me. Dropped.

Tokyo Ravens — They seemed to have toned down the stupidity from the first episode. I’m still watching it, but it hasn’t kept my interest much. Especially with the tearjerker about the girl’s brother. I feel like I’ve seen that story before, many, many times. Continue reading The Week in Anime, Fall 2013 #3 — Jeep vs. Stealth Bomber
