Fall 2012 — First Impressions

As usual, here’s my rankings of the season’s new shows based on the first couple episodes. You can click the links for details, so I’ll keep the discussion of each short. We’ll see how well this matches my ending thoughts. Sorry this is pretty late, I was lazy. But it’s not like anyone reads these anyway, they’re mostly for self-reference.

The children come of age in an instant, when they leave their peaceful walled garden behind and enter the wider world, filled with suffering. One moment they are children:

And the next they are most certainly not:

Zetsuen no Tempest 04 — Feelings

This is what I was afraid would happen to this show— exactly what happened with No. 6. We have here an entire episode that completely forgets about the magic, giant eyeballs, pseudo-mysticism and crazy fights that made this show interesting in the first place.
